The following instructions are for students who are interested in careers that focus on people's interactions with one another or on human environments. Graduates from majors in these areas are prepared for a wide variety of professional careers including politics, religion, philosophy, economics, history, cultural interactions, environmental affairs, global issues, family relations, human and animal behavior, and the foreign and classical languages. Coursework for this area will focus on social sciences and human environments.
Your fall class schedule will consist of
courses from the Curriculum for Liberal Education [CLE] which provide EVERY Virginia Tech student with a broad base of knowledge and transferable skills (these courses are required for all undergraduates), and
elective courses that provide introductory information about interest areas.
The CLE divides courses into 7 areas of study. The courses that you may request are listed below by CLE area, plus a section for electives. Please follow the instructions for each section.
