The following instructions are for students who are interested in careers that focus on design or the fine arts. Majoring in design prepares students to understand and mold the constructed world through creativity, design, construction, and analysis. Majoring in fine arts prepares students to understand the history, literature and practice of their area of interest. Coursework for this area will focus on creative analysis, geometrical perspectives, and construction.
Your fall class schedule will consist of
courses from the Curriculum for Liberal Education [CLE] which provide every Virginia Tech student with a broad base of knowledge and transferable skills (these courses are required for all undergraduates), and
elective courses that provide introductory information about interest areas.
The CLE divides courses into 7 areas of study. The courses that you may request are listed below by CLE area, plus a section for electives. Please follow the instructions for each section.
